Portrait of Arleen Delima records in time the process of finishing a traditionalist portrait. The painted surface is a mere prop for the video. The video installed next to the veiled painting becomes the final product. By including video, the focus shifts from the painting object to the act of painting, allowing the piece to be approached as a performance as well as a video installation.
